Despite living through what many are calling The Great Resignation, creating a work environment that your team actually enjoys is still possible. Don’t be alarmed, but it’s now more important than ever. With a record number of Americans making career changes, it’s crucial that HR managers and business leaders alike take time to reflect on their current situation. We know it can seem daunting, so we’re breaking down some questions to discuss with your leadership team.

- In what ways do you recognize team members who go above what is expected of them?
Do you have a submission box for employee recognition? Do you shout out star employees during staff meetings? Regardless of how you show your appreciation, make sure to do so on a regular basis. Employees that feel valued experience higher levels of satisfaction and productivity, according to the American Psychological Association.
- What types of community involvement opportunities are promoted?
Social responsibility and community involvement are factors for employees of every age, especially Generation Z. Now more than ever, Americans expect the brands they support – and work for – to share similar morals and beliefs. Think of creative ways your team can give back to your community together – activities such as a food drive or fundraiser event can be done in COVID-conscious ways, too!
